I went out to help with the year-end cleaning of Yacht “AIOI” which gave
us an
enjoyable yacht life in the last year and decoration it with Christmas
illumination.
We got together in front of JR Atami station by 10:15.
We split up into two cars to drive to Ito Sunrise Marina.
Other members also arrived there by car from their home around the country.
Just after 11pm, a total of 11 people started cleanung the yacht “AIOI”.
It looks like it was raining intermittently a little till the early hours
of the morning.
But according to the weather forecast, it will be clowdy with occasional
sun in the
afternoon.
The blue sky is peeping through the breaks in the clouds over the marina.
It seems to be ideal day for cleaning.

All the details of the year-end cleaning are as follows.
First, the marine equipments in the cabin were put out and aired out.
They are various sails, ropes, marine wears like raincoat, lifejacket.and
marine interior
like food preparation tools, etc.
The illumination kits that tamma-san prepared in advance were also spread
on the pontoon for advance preparation of installation.
Meanwhile, the cabin was wiped down with wet rags by some guys.

I spread such sails as mainsail, jib sail and jennakar etc.on the pontoon
and cleand up
them with deck blush along with removing salt.

The sails cleaned up were dried by raising to the mast.
They completely dried with the power of the wind.

It's time for lunch.
We took a lunch break with a lunch box consisting of onigiri, inarizushi,
fried chicken and
Japanese pickles at the marina.

The main sale was also aired out by raising to the mast after cleaning.

On the other hand, some people started puting up the decorations for Christmas
illumination on the deck.
According to Tamma-san, all the LED illumination kits were renewed and
so we can
control the illumination pattern.
First, the decorations of the illumination were put up along the lifeline.

And then five illumination cable hung from masthead were fixed with adhensive
tape
on th boom.

Finally, the LED lighting test was carried out.
The LEDs of some illumination kits on the side of the lifeline didn't light
up due to
illumination controller's failure.
But the installation operation was completed successfully by replacing
of it with new one.
After that, everyone get from here to Hotel Ito Powell in Ito to attend their year-end party
at 6 p.m.
So, I and other 2 guys who gave up attending the party with special precautions
against
Covid-19 said goodbye to them here.
Just between you and me, my wife put a ban on participation in a party,
for example year-end party at which many people drink and eat together
for enjoyment in my family
for the time being under re-spread of Covid-19 infection.
I agreed her ban to avoid domestic discord under Covid-19 catastrophe.
So I didn't attend the party this time.
It's really a shame that I couldn't attend the party.

But Mr.Tada who is the captain of Yacht “AIOI” said that he will broadcast
live coverage
of the party from the hotel at 6 p.m. using ZOOM.
As you can see in the pictures, the banquet room is devised to completely
avoid
crowded and confined spaces to prevent the infection spread.

After geting home at 7:30 p.m, I started up my PC to attend the party
with ZOOM.
Everyone were enjoying excellent dishes making use of “GO TO TRAVEL” campaign.
Bruce-san who is one of members of AIOI also attended the party with ZOOM
from
Sydney in Australia.
Although this was the year-end party in which the real and the live were
mixted
together, I had a pleasant time with them.
The following is a photo of AIOI's Xmas illumination that tamma-san sent
us on Google Photos.
The illumination is scheduled to be lighted up during the night until Jun 9, 2021 in hope
that we would blow away coronavirus as soon as possible and with gratitude
to
healthcare professionals.

Thank you for a pleasant year-end cleaning, decorating of illumination
and year-end
party with ZOOM.
I hope Covid-19 will come to an end as soon as possible and we will be
able to thoroughly enjoy yacht life next year.
I'm looking forward to playing with you in 2021!
