I woke up just after 8 a.m. this morning.
When I opened the curtains, there spread a foggy atmosphere ahead of me.
Unwilligly, I went downstairs for camera to take photos of this mysterious
world.
That's this picture.

This is the morning fog I see for the first time this year.
At first, I didn't know whether this is fog or mist.
Since I was just curious, I found out what are the differences in Wikipedia.
They are like this.
Both fog and mist are such phenomena that water vapor in the air condense
into
tiny water droplets and their droplets suspended in the air result in poor
visibility.
They are the same phenomena but one difference between them is visibility.
By meteorological definition, the pfenomeno is called fog if the visibility
is less
1 kilometer and mist if it is more than 1 kilometer but less than 10 kilometers.

Fog falls into several classifications by the occurence factor.
I'm sure today's morning fog is radiation one.
It's become rapidly cold for the past few days even though at last the
hot season turned
to the comfortable one in Ohmi region.
Under high atmospheric pressure, the atmosphere near the earth's surface
became
saturated after being cooled due to radioactive cooling and as a result
of it, water vapor
could have condensed into tiny water droplets.
It' said this phenomeno often occurs in the inland basin when it becomes
extremely
cold in the predawn morning in calm conditions with a clear sky in autumn
and early
winter.

The following is a picture taken at the same angle about an hour and a
half later.
As it's said the weather clears up on a misty day, you can see the Mt.Hiei
in the
distance under the clear autumn sky.
Natural phenomenon is realy mysterious!
